Running, never standing!

Christmas in July

July 31st, 2007 by gillygirl

Has anyone celebrated Xmas in July before? I did for the first time to celebrate my birthday and it was such great fun. Living in QLD it was sooo nice not to be sweating over a Xmas roast in the sweltering heat. You can actually enjoy the hot food and not feel sick afterwards from eating too much. It was also a great excuse to catch up with friends, which becomes a little harder after children ...

It’s my birthday…

July 17th, 2007 by gillygirl

Today’s my birthday and I’ve had a great day. I’ve decided that life gets better once you’re over 30 and officially classed as a ‘master’ when it comes to sporting teams! I got some nice pressies including the latest Powderfinger CD and a lovely book about motherhood with inspiring quotes that I love from my two little men. I also got a bottle of red wine called Kelly’s Revenge that I look forward to cracking the top off ...

I’ve been a busy bee!

July 11th, 2007 by gillygirl

The worse thing about being sick is how far behind you get with things! So now that I’m on the mend it’s catch up time for me. I’m proud to say tonight that I actually did some book keeping for my business and am slowly getting things together. As book keeping isn’t one of my loves I think I deserve some brownie points…. hmmm chocolate.

Yay for me!

With Winter comes illness!

July 6th, 2007 by gillygirl

Thanks to bout of conjunctivitis from the local kindy, the boys and I have spent a week at home feeling sick! The thing I hate about winter is the cold and the flu. Must be the reason why I live in QLD - winter is short-lived. Please come back soon summer…

At least being sick is one of the benefits of working from home. I can still process orders for Nuvo Maternity and look after my ...

Masters? What the?

June 23rd, 2007 by gillygirl

You know you’re getting old when someone asks you to play in a Masters sporting team. Apparently if your over thirty you’re considered a Master! Technically I’m not 31 until July, so maybe I don’t qualify?

Where did the years go?

How cold is it?

June 23rd, 2007 by gillygirl

Now I know I live in Brissie and not down south but it has been so cold this week! The problem is I really don’t have enough warm clothes seeing as we only need them for a few months of the year. But at least I get the chance to wear some boots again which I love to do. Thinking of you down south where it is even colder. Don’t know how you do it!

Winter has arrived…

June 14th, 2007 by gillygirl

It seems winter has finally arrived up here in QLD. We really had a long summer and its nice to see the cooler weather finally arrive! The arrival of the cooler weather means I have been really busy with Nuvo Maternity. Every one is needing some funky tops to keep their bellies nice and warm while feeding. My favourite item instore at the moment is the funky and warm flannelette Jammin Jammies.

We’ve also teamed up ...

I am married to Top Cop

June 1st, 2007 by gillygirl

You may remember from an earlier post that my husband was nominated for police officer of the year in our region. So we got to get all dressed up and had a great three course meal and free drinks. We were just going for a bit of fun but then he won! It was so exciting and just like the Logies (not quite but anyway…). I even got to meet the QLD Police Commissioner!

So I ...

Working Mums Do O.K!

May 15th, 2007 by gillygirl

Just read an article yesterday about a new study which say working mums are spending lots of quality time with their kids and more than other people think. However working mums do a lot of juggling and can get burnt out in the process.

So it seems if you are working mum or not, every mum does her best to ensure her kids get the most of her time possible.

I still believe the old saying… what’s best ...

Turn out the lights!

May 10th, 2007 by gillygirl

What a day I’ve had! The joys of being a work at home mum with little boys. After settling my youngest down for his afternoon sleep and keeping the eldest occupied with a DVD for quiet, I finally got stuck into some work for Nuvo Maternity. Things were going smoothly when suddenly in the middle of processing an order - BAM - out go the lights and the computer!!!

Arrhhh was my first thought which was followed ...
