There’s one thing I really hate once the weather warms up in QLD. No it’s not the heat, humidity or lack of airconditioning. It’s the early morning starts. It seems my eldest son, nearly 4, has a pre-programed inner alarm clock that is set to daylight! This morning was 5:30am - anything before a 6 is way to early for me. I like 7s much better but alas that’s not going to happen until next ...

Today was one of those days that don’t come along very often. The weather was a perfect, sunny, Brissie day and as I live near the bay I decided to take the boys to Coochiemudlo island. A little island on beautiful Moreton Bay with a sandy beach only 5 mins from the mainland on a ferry. It’s on days like this, I remember why I love living in QLD.
They boys were so well-behaved and loved building sandcastles ...

It seems the second child grows up so much faster when they have an older role model to follow. Be afraid when there is silence…be very afraid! It seems my mummy radar was a little off yesterday maybe because I was extremely tired and getting over the effects of another episode of laryngitis.
Anyway, I was quickly preparing dinner after another busy day and I thought my two boys were off helping their Dad doing boy things i.e. ...

What a day I’ve had! The joys of being a work at home mum with little boys. After settling my youngest down for his afternoon sleep and keeping the eldest occupied with a DVD for quiet, I finally got stuck into some work for Nuvo Maternity. Things were going smoothly when suddenly in the middle of processing an order - BAM - out go the lights and the computer!!!
Arrhhh was my first thought which was followed ...

I really am having an interesting week - maybe it is to do with all the chocolate Easter Eggs! Anyway my eldest has been up to it again. I can’t wait to retell his stories at his 21st!
Anyway while I was in the ladies room, Thomas Freak escaped out of the garage and out the side of our house and managed to pull a heavy wheelbarrow onto his foot while his little brother calmly watched ...

I had a very frightening experience yesterday. I took my two little boys to a free Easter festival yesterday as my husband was working and kids were going stir crazy. Now for those of you who have read my previous posts I know what you are thinkin - "is this lady crazy? Crazy no - desperate to get out of the house - YES!
I was so proud of myself - It was all going so ...

Sometimes I feel as if I’m in an episode of prison break - well almost. My two boys - Thomas Freak, 3 and Bob Fan, 1 are quickly mastering all the necessary skills to escape from the prison I like to call home.
No 1 son has worked out how to unlock the front door and quickly push his younger brother out first as a bit of a scout for prison guards or in this case mum. ...

My eldest son has been at it again and has learnt to cook himself a pie in the microwave and he’s only 3! I was busy doing my things when he comes in showing me he has cooked his own lunch. It was a bit cold in the middle (lack of patience - must get it from me) but otherwise done. My husband says he’s obviously neglected and has to fend for himself!...

Son Number 1, the Thomas Freak has been at it again. Today he escaped from his daycare centre. No I am not making it up. I realise this is starting to become a theme of my blog spot. I am starting to become known as that ‘mother’ (formerly known as Kelly).
Let me start at the beginning. I was going about my daily business for Nuvo Maternity when I get the call from the daycare centre. "Hi it’s ...

I just had to share this anecdote…
My eldest son the Thomas Freak has taken to disappearing whenever there is a Thomas DVD within 200metres. He has superpower senses. Anyway after waiting in line at my local post office (don’t get me started) my eldest decides to do the runner. Knowing I can’t move fast in the line or with son no 2 in the stroller - his bid for freedom is well executed and complete.
So for the ...
