Things have been a little crazy since my last post! My husband spent 10 days away with work and returned home on Sunday. So it was just me and my active little boys at home which meant little time for anything else - except work, feed, play,sleep and start all over again! I take my hats off to the single mums out there as it is really hard work on your own.

Has anyone celebrated Xmas in July before? I did for the first time to celebrate my birthday and it was such great fun. Living in QLD it was sooo nice not to be sweating over a Xmas roast in the sweltering heat. You can actually enjoy the hot food and not feel sick afterwards from eating too much. It was also a great excuse to catch up with friends, which becomes a little harder after children ...

Today’s my birthday and I’ve had a great day. I’ve decided that life gets better once you’re over 30 and officially classed as a ‘master’ when it comes to sporting teams! I got some nice pressies including the latest Powderfinger CD and a lovely book about motherhood with inspiring quotes that I love from my two little men. You may remember from an earlier post that my husband was nominated for police officer of the year in our region. So we got to get all dressed up and had a great three course meal and free drinks. We were just going for a bit of fun but then he won! It was so exciting and just like the Logies (not quite but anyway…). I even got to meet the QLD Police Commissioner!

My husband came home with some very exciting news… he has been nominated for Rotary’s Police Officer of the Year! Not only is this great for him but we get to go to a Blacktie dinner - a chance to dress up without kids! Plus dinner and drinks. I’m very excited.
I think this means I need something new to wear, haircut, shoes, the list is endless…
